Programme Manager, Marketing & Communications

Location

5 days a week (Remote / Hybrid as required, involving occasional outstation travel); Monday through Friday, with occasional work required on weekends. Availability for 40 hours per week.

About the Role

FIHCR is seeking a Programme Manager, Marketing & Communications to strategise, manage and execute the organisation’s communication strategies, including building and sustaining media relationships; engaging with external stakeholders such as publishers, sponsors, and strategic partners; curating and managing events in collaboration with internal teams and external collaborators; overseeing the FIHCR website; developing key communication content while strengthening FIHCR’s brand positioning and ensuring consistency across all communication materials.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, editorial judgement, digital marketing expertise, and strong implementation skills, with the ability to translate complex research and scholarship into compelling, accessible narratives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Lead media engagement across print, digital, and broadcast platforms, with a focus on long-term brand positioning.
    • Identify and create high-impact visibility opportunities such as op-eds, interviews, panel discussions, podcasts, and collaborative media initiatives.
    • Develop content for engagement with sponsors, funding partners, and potential investors to communicate the organisation’s vision, impact, and growth opportunities, supporting resource mobilisation efforts.
    • Engage with publishers, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent the organisation in external forums, networks, and stakeholder interactions to expand partnerships and institutional visibility.
    • Support the identification and onboarding of stakeholders, collaborators, and funding partners through targeted engagement and outreach initiatives.

    Content Strategy, Creation & Editorial Oversight

    • Plan, edit, and publish content across various platforms, including website, blogs, newsletters, social media, and digital platforms.
    • Maintain factual accuracy and cultural sensitivity across all communication.
    • Coordinate with internal teams, fellows, researchers, and contributors to develop content and facilitate publication of the same on suitable platforms.

    Website Management & Digital Presence

    • Manage the regular updates and periodic enhancements to website content in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
    • Support discoverability and visibility through content optimisation and digital best practices.

    Newsletters, Blogs & Periodic Publications

    • Conceptualise and manage quarterly newsletters with the list of existing and potential donors and key stakeholders in government and the corporate sector.
    • Support development of blogs and insight pieces contributed by internal teams, fellows, and collaborators.
    • Create annual communications summarising key initiatives, and other periodic communications – LinkedIn newsletters, special editions, event round-ups, etc.

    Events Communication & Media Coordination

    • Lead the development and design of event collateral.
    • Draft and coordinate pre- and post-event press releases.
    • Manage live and post-event communication across digital platforms.
    • Maintain an organised repository of photographs, videos, and documentation from events.

    Digital & Social Media Communications

    • Create and manage a content calendar featuring thought leadership, campaigns, and community initiatives across social media platforms.
    • Curate and oversee content that highlights FIHCR’s research, projects, events, leadership perspectives, and community initiatives.
    • Translate academic and research-led work into engaging, audience-friendly formats while maintaining scholarly integrity; Ensure platform-appropriate storytelling, tone, and formats to strengthen engagement and visibility.

    Analytics, Insights & Reporting

    • Monitor digital performance across social media and website to understand audience behaviour and content effectiveness.
    • Prepare structured summaries and insights for leadership to inform communication strategies and decision-making.
    • Use learnings from data and feedback to refine content approaches and campaigns.

    Audio-Visual & Long-form Initiatives (Podcasts)

    • Explore and coordinate the development of podcasts, video series, or YouTube content featuring FIHCR fellows, scholars, and thought leaders.
    • Liaise with external agencies or production partners where required to ensure quality and consistency.

    Brand Positioning

    • Act as the custodian of FIHCR’s brand identity, including logos, visual language, fonts, imagery, and tone of voice; Ensure all communication reflects the institution’s values, scholarship, and credibility.
    • Support long-term brand positioning by developing and implementing a branding roadmap that reinforces FIHCR’s credibility and leadership

    Key Competencies and Experience

    • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate research into accessible content
    • Strategic understanding of digital communications, including content-led marketing and SEO
    • Experience in managing websites, social media, and digital publishing platforms
    • Brand management and consistency across channels and materials
    • Strong networking, coordination, and project management abilities
    • Collaboration, the ability to work in a dynamic environment, and in a time-bound manner are crucial
    • 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience
