Over forty-two years of experience in the Government of India with wide exposure in the Ministries of External Affairs, Finance and Home. He spearheaded the Ministries of Culture and Textiles as Secretary in the Government of India. In the field of academia, contributed as Director General (National Archives of India), Director (Nehru Memorial Museum and Library), Vice Chancellor (National Museum Institute) and Director General (National Library). Was Director (Indian Cultural Centre) in Berlin, in charge of mainland Europe for cultural exchanges.  

Raghvendra Singh has done extensive work in the preservation and restoration of India’s heritage. Was CEO, Development of Museums and Cultural Spaces, in the Government of India. He has also served as DG (National Museum). He executed a partnership between Louvre (Agence France Museums) and the Ministry of Culture, India, for “Yuge-yugeen” Museum Project in North-South Block, New Delhi; curated the main G20 Exhibition ‘India’s Routes and Roots’. Amongst his restoration projects, the major ones are Jaipur House, National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi; National Museum, New Delhi (five new galleries); Old Currency Building, Kolkata; Metcalf Hall, Kolkata; Belvedere House, National Library, Kolkata; and Victoria Memorial, Kolkata.

The Red Fort, Delhi, was converted by him into a Cultural Space by restoring 11 British barracks. He conceptualised, curated and executed the Museum of Indian Prime Ministers. He also created the ‘National Institute of Heritage’.

Raghvendra Singh has authored ‘India’s Lost Frontier: The Story of North West Frontier Province of Pakistan,’ published by RUPA in 2019.
